Move Over Thomas

| July 20, 2010

Someone once confided in me that when they were a boy they used to use the electric connection on their train set to send shocks to their penis. This is absolutely true and led to a deathly silence after the aforementioned confidence and much nervous laughter on my part. Strange as it may seem it is not uncommon when experimenting with sexual pleasure to push the boundaries towards electro sex stimulation and although this may be perceived as something of an ‘extreme’ or ‘fetish’ activity, electro sex stimulation is creeping into the mainstream. Ok its not quite on the shelves of Ann Summers sharing shelf space with the ubiquitous rabbit vibrator but electro set kits are being produced by main stream sex toy manufacturers for boutique adult markets enjoyed by the average couple who may not be combining their sexy shock therapy with a ‘scene’ or fetish collective.

ElectraStim may produce some heavy duty electro sex kit but they have also branched out into the female sex toy market with a She Stim Electro Starter Pack in a pretty pink satchel. The market for this collection is quite clearly the female sex toy buyer looking for something to supplement the designer sex toys and boutique line vibrators in her bedroom drawer. The look of the electro accessories is sleek and modern, less complicated gadgetry and more smooth modern lines and aesthetically pleasing contours. Likewise Fetish Fantasy have released their shock therapy beginners electro sex kit aimed at couples wanting to put a spark into their sex life. Similar in appearance to a tens machine the main unit has 4 pads to place on any desired area of the body and a choice of settings from low pulse to toe curling crackle. The couples and female market for sex toys and boudoir accessories is ever growing and who would think that today’s customer would have such ready choice when it came to electro sex products. Oh well I suppose it will mean less time alone with his train set!

We-Wibe for breakfast anyone?

| May 5, 2010

We-Vibe

Well what is the world coming to when you turn on Breakfast Telly and are confronted with a vibrator. Bill turned to me and said “Elsie have you seen this mould for false teeth Holly is holding?”

We promptly turned up the volume and were disgusted to hear that it was in fact a U shaped sex toy that massages something called the g-spot and the outside of your lady garden . We couldn’t believe our eyes this We-Vibe goes inside the lady’s privates and stays there whilst the man does his business. Well if you ask me it has no business sitting there while you lay back and think of England. In my day all you had was a stiff upper lip to embrace the marital obligations when Bill returned from his Shift. What don’t women want nowadays, a job and children, sex and an orgasm, a man but sex toys to keep her happy. Poor Phil didn’t know where to look when the couples talked about their testing of this vibrator, anyway i’m off to write a stern letter to the BBC!

Loving Joy Soft Bondage

| April 8, 2010

What better sex toy manufacturer to produce soft bondage than Loving Joy. The company has launched its own range of cuffs, restraints and soft bondage boudoir accessories for couples looking for fun rather than fetish. Soft bondage has long been a ‘comfortable’ introduction to the world of bondage and offers a less intimidating option for couples looking for a little role play or restraining antics. The soft bondage range fits securely around the body with Velcro for fast removal should it be required and Loving Joy have made their range in neoprene and strong nylon webbing for a comfortable fit with minimal chafing in those sensitive spots. Velcro is offers surprisingly strong resistance but allows a safe play with quick release for when either participant decides to call it a day. The bondage system has a selection of different simple cuffs to wrist to neck and wrist to thigh cuffs.

Are sex toy cleaner and lubricant essential

| March 17, 2010

The answer is yes & no. Yes it is essential when using sex toys to keep them clean without question as bad hygiene can lead to infection and a urinary tract infection is easily caught from dirty sex toys, likewise it is essential that when using penetrative sex toys you have enough lubrication that you do not tear or experience discomfort in any way. It is not essential that you buy a sex toy cleaner from a store but it is often easier than using antibacterial soap at home and whilst your own saliva is a natural lubricant a lube in a bottle is readily available and in the case of anal sex essential.

If you are using a penetrative sex toy such as a vibrator or dildo using lubricant is always a good idea, simply spread a little on the shaft before inserting and you will find the sensations more pleasurable and any discomfort to the minimum. Even a clitoral vibrator benefits from a little lube to make the massage process smoother with less resulting soreness. Anal sex requires lubrication full stop as the anus produces no natural lubrication of its own. An anal lube specifically for the task in hand will provide more slip and prevent tearing. Lubricants range from cheap water based versions such as super slik to organic sex lubricants with no chemical content and body friendly properties. Your choice will of course be dictated by your purse and priorities. There are many lubricant brands  on the market nowadays and companies such as Sliquid and Pjur offer women friendly choices. Loving Joy sex toys have released both a sex toy cleaner called sparkle and lubricant called Slide that offer fantastic value for money with the sex lubricant being paraben free and close to the bodies own natural lubrication. Our advice would be to choose the best lubricant you can afford and use it when you feel its needed.

Always clean your toys and at the very least run under hot water to kill any bacteria left on the surface. An antibacterial hand wash will do the job or if you have a silicone sex toy pop it on the top shelf of the dishwasher for a sterile treatment. A sex toy cleaner is easy to use and you can keep it to hand in your bedside drawer for when you can’t quite be bothered to get up. Make sure you dry your  sex toy well as putting it away damp will lead to mould growth which isn’t pleasant on an intimate object!

How to use a Rabbit Vibrator With Your Partner

| February 18, 2010

The Rabbit vibrator has long been a first choice for women when looking for a sex toy but we are often asked how it can be taken from the bedside drawer a

We are asked many times how you can use your rabbit vibrator with your partner. Some women may have only tried the rabbit vibe and consider it so good as a masturbation aid that a logical step would be to bring some of that pleasure to share between you. Another scenario is to introduce an inclusive element to sex toy play, if your partner knows th…

Can I become addicted to a vibrator?

| February 17, 2010

Funfactory Delight Vibrator

The short answer is no, addiction to a vibrator is not going to befall all women that venture into an adult store to purchase a vibrating sex toy. This is more likely a myth perpetuated by a society that isn’t entirely comfortable with a woman actually experiencing pleasure without the need for procreation. Using vibrators will not replace the need for human contact nor become the sudden sole focus of your sexual enjoyment. Vibrator use does not lead to a ‘bad habit’ and much like all desires you will experience a thirst for your toy and at times leave in it the drawer, such is the balance of libido and sexual appetite.

The fear of sexual pleasure leads some people to believe that enjoying sex toys and unleashing sexual libido will lead to some sort of lack of control. It is actually healthier to enjoy your sexual urges rather than suppress them and surely history shows that in societies which suppress sex experience very strange consequences in deviance’s that would certainly counter the societal norm. There is no limit to the amount of sexual enjoyment you can experience and using vibrators is part of that. In the case of Sex addiction it isn’t an addiction to your vibe but a psychological dependency on sex itself.
